In 1991, I decided to find out a little more about my family, and visited the local LDS Family History Center. I entered in the few names I knew (my grandparents), and came up with my mother’s father’s name: Clinton Buto Dawson. There are cousins who are LDS members, and they were the ones who entered his name into their database.
From there, I followed the work of many astute and diligent researchers, and came up with the list below. I can say that I added a my own research to expand the knowledge of the Moody family in Kentucky, and I worked with some amazing cousins who helped with the Preston family.
Along the way, I found a half-dozen Revolutionary War soldiers who are my direct ancestors, as well as a one Civil War soldier (for the south).
The table below merely reflects the names in my mother’s ahnentafel. Some are so far in the distant pass that the connection is solely based on others’ research. I haven’t been able to confirm the connections.
